Inflation 2023
Asscher Roofing Company
Inflation 2023
How has inflation impacted the roofing industry?
Inflation has impacted many different industries' prices including the roofing industry. The inflation rate has increased by about 8% in the United States. Energy prices have increased by about 34% and food prices have increased by 10%.
The roofing industry construction material prices have increased by 24.45% since last year. This increase was stated by the NRCA (National Roofing Contractors Association). This price increase was stated in 2022 and has increased significantly more in 2023. This increase has directly impacted the roofing industry's overall cost of roof replacement.
What roofing materials were directly impacted by inflation?
There was of 7-10% price increase that took place every 60 days in the past year and a half on shingles/accessories. There are many other products we use daily that we noticed a price increase on. The products include but are not limited to:
Gas prices
Underlayment
Ice & Water shield
Drip Edge
Vents
Plywood
Nails
All these products had a 5-10% yearly increase which directly impacts the overall price for your roof replacement per year. These price increases continue to go up as we are still dealing with inflation. Asscher roofing wants to remain transparent with our pricing while still providing the diamond standard.
What does Asscher Roofing Recommend?
Our prices have increased but our quality of work will remain the same. We hold ourselves to a high standard and we strive to live up to that reputation. We know some customers want a cheap easy fix but with the price increases it is difficult to compete while still maintaining our quality of work.
It is important to know what you are paying for. When paying for roof replacement you expect this to last 20-25 years. This is possible when choosing a company that cares about the quality of work. A roof replacement is an investment that only needs to be made 1-2 times throughout your lifespan. You must make a smart investment with a quality roof replacement.
Our Competitors
We understand that we can not compete with some of our competitors' cheaper prices. We noted that these cheaper companies cut corners to keep their costs down. How are they doing this? Well here are some examples of what we noted:
Not using enough nails to install
Not installing Ice & Water Shield according to building code specs
Not using starter shingle
Using smaller drip edges to cut cost
The ridge cap doesn't match shingles
Not using enough underlayment
Subcontracting work out for cheaper labor
We know a cheaper price always seems more appealing when purchasing a roof, but this could cost you more in the long run. This can decrease your roof's overall lifespan. Many customers call Asscher Roofing for Repairs after going with the cheaper options.
Stick with the Diamond Standard
We want to remain transparent with our quality and pricing. We do not cut corners and continue to provide the same quality even after inflation. We have increased our pricing so we can continue to provide the diamond standard of roofing. We want to help keep our customers aware of what they are paying for.
Our CRM will provide photos throughout the journey of your project to keep you informed of the work being completed and any change orders. This is another way we remain transparent with the quality of our services. It is important for us to keep our customers well-informed.
We know inflation has been a difficult journey for everyone. This is why we offer financing options for those who need it. Ask your roofing sales representative about our financing options. We know a roof replacement can be costly and we want to give our customers options during financial hardship.
